I’ve been keeping a journal for over ten years. I’m well into the habit of writing my thoughts on paper (or on computer). However, I’m really bad at doing it in a professional context, the few times I’ve tried. I tried getting into the habit of tweeting about tech, twice, and I was unable to stick to it those times. I also tried maintaining a Medium blog, again without persistence. However, I believe this attempt at online presence is different.
The last time I tried to maintain an online presence, I had less direction. I had some direction, but I was doing it more out of desperation since I was in a very bad spot with my last job and I knew I should have some online presence to make it easier for me to find a better job.
Here are some things that have changed between this time and last time.
- I am solid in my current job, so I can focus more of my mind on self-actualization.
- I am switching to WordPress for a blog/site format to make it as easy as possible for me to add new posts.
- I have a much stronger understanding of what my priorities are and how I can achieve my goals due to the changes I’ve experienced in the last ten months or so, a process I was still going through last time I tried to maintain an online presence.
I’m going to give it another shot.
